When connecting the Jolla to Windows in PC connection mode, there are some devices where no driver can be found:

  • CDC OBEX Data (appears twice)
  • PC Suite Services
  • SYNCML-SYNC

How to get these drivers? If these drivers are available is it possible to sync Outlook with Jolla? There are still people out there who can't or don't want to sync their data to some suspicious cloud services. Thanks to NSA I think the number of these people is even increasing nowadays.

Will there be a PC Suite (like Nokia Suite) software available in the future?

Good question! However, it's also important to offer similar services to other operating systems. I suggest that "PC suite" would be based on Qt and therefore cross-platform tool.

Most probably nothing will be released for Windows XP anymore as it is EOL very soon now. Hopefully it will be a cross platform application as my main OS is Linux

I got USB working in Windows7 64 bit by installing Media Transfer Protocol Porting Kit from Microsoft.

For some reason Windows Update doesn't find the drivers.

This Helped with me. I lost the connectivity after Jolla changed/fixed a bug in the device lock and sync settings in 2014. Installed drivers manually and now I can clean my phone again. Super!

I have Windows 7 x64 and recommend Zadig to install all missing drivers: http://zadig.akeo.ie/

  • Connect your Jolla to the PC, choose "PC connection"
  • Important: Run zadig with right-click and "run as administrator"
  • Options menu: list all devices
  • Target Driver: WinUSB (selected by default)
  • Then, for each of CDC OBEX Data (Interface 1), CDC OBEX Data (Interface 3), PC Suite Services and SYNCML-SYNC klick on "Install driver"
  • You might check with Windows device manager that these devices are running without problems

Thanks for the tip. It would be nice if this was available as a part of the official Jolla guides, e.g. here.

I can't find CDC OBEX Data and other interfaces, just USB input interface. I just can see a "Removable disk" icon in "My Computer", but I can't open it. My OS is Win 8.1 Pro. Looking forward to your kindly reply. Thanks!

Those USB devices make it possible to synchronize using SyncML via USB, so Outlook synchronization without additional software in between won't work. I'm currently not aware of any vendor agnostic software capable of doing SyncML via USB on Windows, so right now publishing Windows drivers for that would not be useful. Under Linux synchronization via USB should work with tools like OpenSync.

Just for reference, there are no real services behind those interfaces yet afaik, so you can safely ignore them for the time being.

Another forum suggested to install libusb-win32 and run inf-wizard.exe on each unrecognized device. This approach worked for me, YMMV.
