After recent update the tutorial app appeared in my phone. I cannot uninstall it. It is very annoying to have two pages of applications just because of single app. Please allow user to remove it. image description

You should be able to uninstall it through pkcon (pkcon remove jolla-startupwizard-tutorial)

Just in case: you have to open a terminal do enter the "pkcon remove jolla-startupwizard-tutorial" command.

Strange... I don't have the tutorial since 1.0.2.5 as far as I remember!

it was possible to uninstall it like any other app before 1.0.3.8, so if you removed it then no need for pkcon

Just in case you removed the Tutorial App via pkcon ... after updating to 1.0.4.20 it will be back :-/

Doesn't work on 1.1.9, there's a problem with the jolla store version.

If it's just about the launcher icon, this command removes it (but does not uninstall the app):

mv /usr/share/applications/jolla-tutorial.desktop /home/nemo/

(keeping a copy in the home directory, just to be sure)

But I agree: it is very annoying to have apps that cannot be uninstalled in the UI. Particularly if they are rather a one-time app like this one.

I don't see the tutorial as a one time app - if i give the phone to someone, i like to give them the tutorial, as most people don't know about swipes and pulls.

In this case you hopefully purge and reset it?

I have filed a request to allow uninstalling Tutorial app from the UI. Stay tuned. In the meantime the cleanest way to get rid of it is to run `pkcon remove jolla-startupwizard-tutorial' in the terminal as @Matthias pointed out. That requires developer mode on.

The tutorial app is not uninstallable due to issues we had in very early releases. Those are solved nowadays -> We could allow uninstall now without causing breakage.

However, as it's part of the default device configuration it would come back with each update. This part is a bit more tricky to solve. To avoid lot's of "why did the tutorial app come back again" with each update we pushed out I'm currently still keeping the uninstall lock there. Once that's solved it'll be uninstallable through the homescreen.
