I need a little help here. I just can't get access to any micro sd card on my Jolla. I tried an exFAT formatted 64 GByte SDHX, but I read somewhere that exFAt is not supported. So I also tried a 2 GByte SD card - but none was accepted by the phone.

I can't find it in /run/user/100000/media/sdcard - there's no /media/sdcard. Also, formatting the card from the terminal doesn't work - I get the answer that no filesystem can be build as the card is mounted.

Probably this is a noob question, but what am I doing wrong? Would appreciate any hints. Thanks!

exFAT has (somewhat-)recently started to be supported through an external FUSE plugin.

See this answer

NOTE: this plugin isn't officially supported by Jolla (and can't legally be, as they haven't paid the necessary patent-licensing tax).

Since 1.0.4.20 the sd card is mounted in /media/sdcard/[long identifier string]. Using the mount command without any switches, you should be able to see what partitions are mounted where.

Argh, that's actually something I could have guessed on my own... Thank you very much!

Ahh ok, so File Browser app needs to be changed then, right?

As a temp. fix you can create a link to the SD card in run/user/100000 with the following command :

ln -s /media /run/user/100000/media

Then file browser will be able to find the sd card again.

The microSD in my Jolla seems to work fine - I have saved a backup there and can see it with the File Browser. The strange thing is that the CSD Tool in testing the SD Card is showing me: "No SD Card detected. Fail". Does someone know why?

Try to run chkdsk command that might fix corrupted or unrecognized card. Follow the steps to run chkdsk command. – Connect your sd card to your computer using SD card reader. – Now go to start > right click computer > manage – Go to disc management option to see what type of condition SD card is in. – If it says it has RAW disck, then try with chkdsk first. – To go with chkdsk option, click on Start > Run > type CHKDSK X: /R then press the enter key. Note – Replace X with your drive letter
