Hi, when I sleep I awake very easily, notification from the phone often wake me up. Sms is not a big issue, I dont get them at night but email is very frustrating to wake up to (I get maybe 5 emails per night)

I'm coming from android and has been using K-9 and its Quiet time feature, described here below:

Quiet Time

You can set a Quiet Time to prevent notification from disturbing your sleep.

Quiet Time starts

Here you can specify the time when notifications will be disabled.

Quiet Time ends

This time specifies the end of the Quiet Time, when notifications will be enabled again.

I would love to have this as an option for the official jolla email client.

If you get that many, just ignore the first you get, following emails do not trigger audio notification, still a DND mode during those or that hours would be nice

I would like to have this for all notifications not just for email, something like iOS for example.

I rather want a more general solution: Ambiences that activate automatically according to the current time (and location). This way you can set a lot of things depending on when and where you are, not only notification sounds.

(Of course, I also expect, that Ambiences can adjust more settings than currently ....)

Yeah, it would be cool to habe a full fledged Ambience setting center and an ambience API for developers to register their app in these settings....

I would also add configurable support for email, notifications, e.g. different update settings depending on connection type wifi or mobile data (similarly to system updates), and time of day via automatic switch of ambience?

Released in Update 9, so also in the next stable update 10

how to: settings --> accounts --> choose your emailaccount --> sync option for example every 15minutes. Choose costum --> Option will appear with daily and time-based sync.

Update: Corrected the terms

Example for Sync Options

Please provide a citation/source for this. Also, an instruction on how/where it is would be nice. I'm on update 9 and apparently too slow to find how to do this.

Nice! Thanks! Although it's pretty poorly implemented. :( I'd like to be able to sett it to "off" (that option doesn't even exist) during the night while still having "every hour" on the weekends and maybe "every 15 minutes" on the weekdays. I guess I'll just have to set weekends as normal days too now. It works, but it sure ain't pretty.

I'd like that too. Maybe @VDVsx has an eye on this ;)

These settings will updated to become similar to the Exchange Activesync ones, where 'off/manual' is available.

While waiting for that feature, you can create a "silent" ambience with no sounds or just the sounds of your choice. Then you can easily shift to that ambience before going to bed.
