How to reproduce:

  • select a calendar event from the calendar
  • select "Share" from the pulley menu
  • select "Email" from the presented options
  • fill in the details in the email and send the mail

Expected outcome: the receiver(s) of the email should get a mail with an attachment with a file name ending in .vcs.

Actual outcome: the attachment's file name extension is .vcf.

Additional notes: when sending the calendar event the attachment name seems correct (e.g. Calendarevents.vcs). This name doesn't last however. The file name extension is changed to an incorrect one somewhere after sending the email so you really have to send the email and observe the wrong result on a received email.

Confirmed. The extension should probably be .ics

Similar problem, maybe related: when sharing from Notes, a .vnt file seems to be sent but actually a .vcf file is. https://together.jolla.com/question/20391/sharing-from-notes-as-vnt-doesnt-work-please-add-plain-text-support/

Any news on this issue? Come on, it seems only a matter of renaming the file extension ;-)

Confirmed and thumb-up'ed, the extension should be vcs (ics is for icalendar, aka vcalendar 2.0). ICS export would be nice, maybe, but less trivial.
