Hi!

I experience some issues with wifi connection:

Wifi quite often disconnects and immediately reconnects.

This happens even if I'm close (30 cm) to my router. When I'm browsing the internet (so not related to phone's sleep mode), sometimes after I wake up the phone. By "this" I mean messages like "disconnected", "connected" (sometimes just "connected" with no previous "disconnected") and of course lack of connection for a short while.

I checked two different routers - there was no difference so it's rather Jolla related (I also had no wifi issues with N9 and Xperia devices).
Wifi signal is shown as weak even when I'm very close to my router

I asked about the issues earlier here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=92077 Seems that I'm not alone with such problem.

Hi,

does this fix also include association/connectivity handling to WiFi access points ? I'm changing WiFi network (SSID) more than 10 times a day and I have to reboot almost for each new association as Jolla either gets stuck while associating (Layer 1 problem) or associates and does not get IP (Layer 2/3 problem). In many cases unencrypted networks (public hotspots) are being shown as encrypted ....

Today at 12 a.m. I've reached 4 WiFi driven reboots so far :( ...

Hi, the same problem occurs also when wifi not available, only mobile data. And to make it more odd problem to solve, it can also inform "connected" every few seconds. The only difference is when getting "connected", web is somewhat available.

Still not fixed on 1.0.3.8, at least for me. And if I also have mobile data on, and this happens, sometimes my phone starts a connection switch loop, passing from wifi to mobile then to wifi again and so on, and becomes quite laggy during each switch.

Same for me, WiFi is still pretty much a disaster ... Scan does not find Access Points which are close and send beacons correctly, no connection possible even when close Access Points are found correctly, networks are being dropped from the known networks list, no automatic reconnect to known networks ... I mostly work with 2G/3G even when WiFi available as mobile networks are pretty reliable on my Jolla while WiFi is not.

some workaround for me is to open a second shell either on device or on remote and keep the connection busy.

For example:

on jolla device I use a ping command to my gateway or
on my PC in a second shell I use top command to keep it busy

At this moment the wifi still isn't stable. I use 3g the complete month so I will not get frustrated...

I'm having quite the wifi issues: even more apparent due to my dual stack IPv6+IPv4:

A. timings, i'm about 2m from the wifi router with both samsung android and jolla, when both are connected. From the openwrt wifi, i can ping both, and i did "ping -c 30" 3 times towards both devices:

android:

17.497/124.472/352.256 ms
14.503/119.387/312.585 ms
1.899/87.457/207.685 ms

jolla:

49.175/192.163/332.784 ms
1.193/175.685/327.683 ms
33.066/191.162/604.290 ms

B. i often have the icon with "!" when i'm connecting (and i looked, and the IPv6 stack works then, but IPv4 DHCP is difficult)

C. i did some checking with tcpdump and found out the following:

when connecting, the device sends a good number of DHCP requests... ~15 or so (no replies) (a few seconds between them)
on the other side, i can see at most 2 (sometimes 3, or none) of those DHCP requests on the openwrt end, (but, i'm almost always seeing those requests twice with only 0.2 ms between them, and only 1 reply)
sometimes, i do get a full connection, but most often when i'm trying to debug it

The issue seem to have gotten a lot worse after the last release. And upon reconnection, the default gateway is not set (verified via de route command), so I have to ssh in and set it. Awful!

EDIT: Fixed by this update, apparently. Being a randomly recurring issue, it's hard to say if it's fixed or I've just been lucky, but, unless I re-update this, consider the issue fixed.

I can't say that it got worse , but I'm not using ssh on my home wifi. I do have connect-disconnect issues (1.0.7.16) which seem like "cork in traffic "

It's become more noticable after the update for me, since the default gateway is no longer being configured. I know my way around unix, but otherwise, I would have a complete brick in my hand, since I need to add the default gateway manually upon every reconnection.
