Currently locking the screen from an application requires user to side-swipe and then swipe from top. This is quite difficult to do with one hand, especially if you are driving or cycling. A single gesture lock would be nice to have, but I'll leave it to usability experts how to implement it. I'd suggest a ⬎ or ⬐ or shaped swipe from side to bottom could be used to lock the screen.

Alternatively: add fully customizable gestures. There are several other gesture-related ideas in Together.

Customizable shaped swipes would be nice! It needs a start action somehow though. But would be really cool to start an app from anywhere with a shape drawn on screen.

To be able to define a global gesture shortcut would be a better approach, see https://together.jolla.com/question/29642/customizable-gestures/
