My phone turned totally silent!

I installed the Recorder application and made some recordings, but I could not hear any of them. Then I noticed media player was also totally silent. And I can't hear any of ringtones in Settings. [recoverd]When trying phone calls I could not hear the ringtone.

I have booted the phone, removed Recorder and booted again - no help.

Edit: Huoh, this is not a catastrophe! I have confirmed that I can call and receive calls normally.

With CSD tool I found that only the audio files can not be heard in the Recorder, Media player or Stetting ringtone preview. This is very odd as same recordings play nicely when transferred to my computer.

My phone has been sent back to Jolla care for the same reason. Sometimes the sound would re-apear for a short while (tapping tones / ring tones / media player) but it would disappear later without exception. Jolla care has advised to send in for repair after CSD tool failed play back on speaker at least 1 time.

just to clarify: Are you all saying this happened after using the app 'Recorder' ?

Yes. The installation of Recorder did not go thru clearly, I don't remember the details. After 2nd try recorder worked but it was impossible to hear recordings, video recordings and music files. Other tones worked ok.

Test it with the CSD tool by dialing

*#*#310#*#*

It has audio tests. If nothing happens contact care.

Now I did hear the key tapping tones and the Audio play music tests passed ok. But the audio mic tests fail: I can't hear what i dictated!

I moved one of the Recorder files to my computer and it plays fine there.

The problem was solved with the assistance on Jolla support. The primary reason is not known, but resetting Sailfish solved the problem and I could use the Recorder, too.

Note that the backup does not include the data of all applications. My calendar events were preserved if I know, but most of them were saved by Google.
