I noticed that I can not share an image directly from the gallery app via email. As a workaround I can create a new email and select the same image.

Is it just me, or did someone else encountered the same issue?

I am using Sailfish in version 1.0.2.5

I can confirm. When using gmail, I am not able to send an email direct from the gallery. Starting email first and then selecting an image works.

In the gallery app, tap the picture then tap email, write address and subject and pull down the pulley menu to send.

Neo, this is exactly what I did. As mentioned no email was sent. Am I reading correctly between the lines and you were able to send an image thew the gallery app?

I just did, but the email send threw gallery app is not in the list (emails sent using email app are here though).

I tried it a few times and it is working fine. Can not reproduce your situation.

Neo, thank you for your feedback. At least I know now, that the app should be fine. I am going to dig a bit deeper. Maybe there will be an error log somewhere on the device.
