[Bug] Bluetooth car-kit connection drop issues after 1.0.7.16 & 1.0.8.19
With update 1.0.7.16 we got PBAB support, among others. While this is great news and seems to work for some, there are now also a lot of people experiencing new issues. For some, like me, I actually can't use my car-kit anymore. As there are quite a few issues now on together I tried to collect them. Hopefully this helps all affected to get to a working solution.
Related issues
Currently there are several issues related to this (probably incomplete):
- Bluetooth connection lost all the time [1.0.7.16]
- [bug] bluetooth after update
- Bluetooth automatic pairing failures with car after Jolla update
- Bluetooth problems w/ standard Renault carkit + workaround [1.0.7.16]
- Jolla does not work with car kit:
- after update: carkit (bluetooth) not working
- [bug] bluetooth after update
Interesting suggestions
Between all the issues I find this one very interesting as it seems to 'explain' the issue I have with the Renault car-kit. An active connection (e.g. playing music over A2DP) seems to work just fine. I can listen to CuteSpotify without any connection dropping issues. But if the phone is just passively connected to the car-kit, the connection drops often, like every (couple of) minute or so. As I have broken the car-kit/navigation/board-computer in my Renault in the past (in Dutch) with a bluetooth connected Nokia N9, I don't dare to keep the connection dropping all the time.

I've also experienced the problem with dropping the connection. It sometimes happens even during calls. Accessing the call-log and the contacts work fine though. One bug though... in the call-log it shows only one number from a contact and the same one even if you called another one. Volvo XC70 -12

Jarno ( 2014-07-09 20:31:00 +0200 )editLexus RX400h (2009): phone connects at startup, first phone call is ok, but as soon as I hang-up the connection drops. Sometimes after receiving a second call (manually answered), the bluetooth connection is suddenly re-established, only to be dropped again after hanging up.
