Several times when I have taken my jolla out of my pocket I have found that jolla have done some things by it self.

So far happenend: - sent several SMSs with random words and letters to people on my call list - sent picture and random words on mitäkuuluu - opened the browser and deleted some favorites - created random word google search shortcut on launcher - opened the settings and messed up bluetooth settings - opened the accounts and deleted my email account

I am pretty sure that I have locked my phone on 99% of times these have happened.

This used to happen several times during the week. It have been better now when I enabled the lock code and removed any shortcuts on lockscreen pulley menu.

which way you put your phone to the pocket? Would it be possible that it slides lock screen open when you put phone to the pocket? I have never had this kind of problems.

I recommend to use the locking the phone from the settings menu (Lock icon) with five minute delay it has effectively prevented such messaging for me.

Drawback is the mandatory lockcode when you want to use the phone.

Proximity sensor should disable all touch when the phone is in the pocket, like double tap wake doesn't even work in pocket/ when covered proximity sensor. So i ques something is pushing the power button in the pocket to turn on the screen in the first place.

I typically put the phone in the pocket display facing to my leg, so touchscreen can take gestures from that, but could be also random. Maybe the lock button is pressed when sitting or something and then swipe gesture happens when walking or movig.

Kari: thats what I did and the problem is gone, but I dont like having the lock code. Couple of time when I took my phone from the pocket there have been random lock code entered, so touchscreen have been enabled in my pocket. I tested the proximity sensor by hand and it seems to work.

some fabrics do not trigger the proximity sensor. You can test that by double tapping your Jolla in your pocket.

You could try if ignoring power key presses while proximity sensor is covered helps.

There is no settings ui for this, but from comand line you can use mcetool:

mcetool --set-powerkey-action=proximity

Back to default behavior via:

mcetool --set-powerkey-action=always

(to install mcetool run: pkcon install mce-tools)

Now done. Also removed the locking code. Lets see if the problem is gone.

1 day after disabling the lock code the problem is back again. Today it changed my settings in the pocket and hour later it sent a random message to a number from my caller list. So changing the powerkey behavior didn't solve the problem. I tested that power key is not active when proximity sensor is covered.

I have notised that the problem happen most often when I am at poor reception area like like in my garage. Could it be possible that loosing the connection causes the screen to wake up?

@amalin: even if connection changes would somehow cause display wakeup attempt, it should be blocked by proximity sensor. But if the main ui (lipstick) would crash and then get restarted, it would cause display to wake up with touch enabled. The same applies for device reboots/restarts. The forced shutdown via 5+ second power key press can still happen even if mce power key actions are disabled - and another pocket power key press would then boot up.

We are working on a fix for these, but

Have you ever noticed that applications would have been closed while the device was in pocket (=could be due to ui restart), or pin query (=could be due to restart)?

Could be that apps have been closed, but I think mostly I still have the previous apps running. But it is very systematic that it happens in certain place, in my garage have very low signal strenght and Jolla (and other phones) is losing connection very often. Same place where the most "pocket action" is happened.

I know I have the loose SIM-card issue (by pressing the cover), I should get the sim card socket changed as soon as I have time to take the Jolla to a service.
