How are the applications selected to Jolla Aptoide store? Can I make suggestions somewhere? I know I can add multiple stores there, but I would prefer to get the few Android apps that I need from Jolla’s Aptoide store.

PS. One app I miss from it is Huuto.net.

I'm pretty sure the 'jolla' Aptoide app store is simply a duplicate of the 'apps' Aptoide app store (which is the store that is usually added by default when installing Aptoide), and is kept up to date by the Aptoide team rather than Jolla.

That might be it, since 'Jolla' Aptoide store has only one app more, compared to the 'apps' store and the latest additions are exactly same..

Jolla is an official client of Aptoide. I assume that Aptoide provides Jolla with a general application repository. (I somehow can't imagine Jolla doing all that). Right now there are about 45'000 apps in Jolla's section with daily updates. Jolla probably could add own apps to the selection.

Jolla's words on Aptoide: "Aptoide provides Jolla ability to offer Sailfish users access to a vast pool of Android applications in a quick and cost effective manner. Jolla has been very impressed about the professionalism, cooperation mindset and responsiveness of Aptoide team to our (development) requests and recommend Aptoide service concept to OEMs, developers and operators alike. The Android application coverage, platform flexibility and business model make Aptoide a good choice when considering an Android store concept."

I don't see a problem with adding 3rd party app stores (where you can find pretty much every app - sometimes maybe not most recent version). To be on the safe side only install apps with a "Trusted" hint.

If you register on Aptoide you can additionally create your own store and upload APK's - even straight from your device uploading already installed apps (not sure about the legal situation though) or use it as a personal APK backup.

Not an answer, but another question. What does it mean that an app is 'Trusted' in the Aptoide store? E.g. the store offers the Gmail app, supposedly published by Google. However, I'm pretty sure that Google didn't upload this app itself. Yet it is a 'Trusted app'. But how can this be if the app has been put in the store by someone else than the owner?

On the Aptoide site, if you click on 'Trusted', you get this information: "Application signature compared with developer signature: Application signature match with signature related to the application developer. "

Great, thanks! And I also found that Aptoide checks the apk file against the same app in other stores.

Apps come from http://www.aptoide.com/ so you could mail the creator and ask him/her to upload the app to aptoide.com

But if that’s the case why does the Jolla Aptoide store exist? (http://m.jolla.store.aptoide.com/). My question is just about how do the apps get to the Jolla Aptoide store.

Shadow ( 2014-08-31 15:14:16 +0300 )edit

Some (from Jolla?) has made substore and as far as I know those apps are selected from the general selections of aptoide.com and those are selected by the basis they work on Alien Dalvik?

After a quick look, I'm pretty sure that quite a few of the apps in tge Jolla sub-store do not work on Alien Dalvik. Is tgis 'Jolla-Store' even set up by Jolla at all?

Aptoide.com is simply the conveyer, the jolla store belongs to their owners, so If you want to have specific apps in that store, you need to ask the owners of the store (I'm guessing jolla) to add them, there's no other way.
