Hi, my phone boots as soon as I touch the screen. I tried connecting via telnet; the recovery program is v0.1 and does not have the option to recover from bootloop. I tried resetting to factory settings but I have no clue about the device lock code. Wat do? Is it possible to update the recovery tool to v0.2 via USB?

Well you should have set the device lock code yourself. If you cannot remember it you will have to send it to care, and prove you bought the phone. And what do you mean it boots when you touch the screen? It should only boot on power key.

I don't remember setting the device code. I've exhausted my typical passwords and I have no idea what I could have chosen. The phone restarts as soon as the screen is touched ("clicked", no reboot from swipes).

Have you tried battery paper trick, as it more sounds that tapping makes battery contacts lose power. If that doesnt help then care is the right way to go forward.

the guy registered here at together two hours before posting his first and ONLY question with a phone he doesn't have the lock code to.

Well, some guy or lady is missing a phone.

If this really is a legit question I suggest this should only be handled the proper way through jolla care.

Don't give any more help than that.

Its not a battery contact problem. The phone behaves like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCVJK12h1kY&feature=youtu.be

Does the phone ask to set the recovery code on first start up or something? I have no memory of ever setting or using one. I've had the phone for only two weeks and its already non-usable :)

How much does reflashing cost?

@QQQQQQ : You will have to contact care. There is no recovery code. It is a devicelock code you need to set yourself. This is for example to keep thieves from using the phone. So you will have to be able to prove you are the rightful owner of the phone also.
