Syncevolution loses calendar entries upon errors

I have observed this behaviour:

  • I add a new calendar entry to, say, owncloud
  • I sync on my Jolla, using syncevolution
  • Syncing throws an error, e.g.

First ERROR encountered: error code from SyncEvolution fatal error (local, status 10500): @owncloud-/calendar: could not save calendar

    as in this question.

  • The calendar entries do not show up in the Jolla calendar, but it seems syncevolution expects them to be there.
  • Upon the next sync, syncevolution believe they were deleted intentionally, thus removing them from owncloud.

Obviously such behavior makes syncevolution on Jolla very dangeroursly to use. I would suggest that upon such an error, syncevolution does not consider the entries synced.

Maybe you should ask this also on the project site: https://openrepos.net/content/ovekaaven/syncevolution SyncEvolution also normally backups all its data before syncing, you may get it back from /home/nemo/.cache/syncevolution/xxxxx-date-time/calendar.before.
