Blinking light [answered]

As you might notice from some videos with the phone, there is a small rapidly blinking light in the top right corner of the device. It is only visible in videos.

The area also has a small red light that can only be seen in dark. Is this the proximity sensor, and why would it look like that?

It is the proximity sensor using inrared beam, which cameras can detect. About the red... well I'd assume the band sligtly overlaps with visible light.
