Receiving plain text E-Mails with attachments is going fine - except that there is no trace of any attachment. E-Mails with attached .vcf files appear somewhere in settings. Are the attachments not supposed to appear in the E-Mail after swiping one to the right, where all the other message details are printed? Even signatures from S/MIME disappear.

Only attachments which you actually download are downloaded to a folder under ~/Downloads/mail_attachments/ folder (as Tanghus said)
If they are recognized as pictures or videos, they are automatically seen in Gallery, and documents (.pdf, .doc etc) are seen with Documents -app.
RTF/HTML email attachments can't be downloaded (No attachment is downloaded automatically)
This means, I have to check all different applications for updates, whenever I wait for an attachment and am uncertain of the format or type of the attachment? How do I find a attachment, if I do not even know that there have been one? I don't like this kind of auto mechanisms at all. :-(

But I also have another issue: the attachments together with other files of one email were saved in different subfolders like ../mail_attachments/53-2/ and /53-3/etc: any reason?

Not really user friendly, but they appear to be saved in
Tanghus ( 2013-12-24 22:21:12 +0300 )edit~/Downloads/mail_attachments/Yes, I found this during searching the the root tree in an ssh session. There is indeed such a directory, but most of the attachments are missing. And if they were there, would fingerterm be the only way to retrive them?
