I've had few reboots during phone call. Battery level has been about 50%. And I have that folded paper making the battery connection firm. That paper helped before so maybe it's something else now.

EDIT: Seen your tag with 1.0.1.38 (There is no word about using new os verison in text). In my opinion it has nothing to do with the acual update. You will find multiple posts about reboot issue here on TJC. So it is not caused by update and would have reached your phone anyway.
Same problem here. I've send phone in for repair few month ago. the only thing they have done is installing a 3mm small plastic, named "bumper". I never removed accu since repair, and it did not reboot. Now it is crashing again multiple times a day. I will open a new ticket on zendesk and hopefully they will exchange the device. The phone is not usable again. Very frustrating in daily usage :((
I wont handicraft on the contacts myself. After that, cusomer care will tell me "no warranty for self dept malfunction". And by the way, if this is needed to be done each month, they have used improper material. I don't need to do that on any of my phones in the last ten years!

For me it seems to be Battery problem.
As we had Ni-Cad batteries 15 years ago, when you had to discharge completely before recharging. Any other activity caused problems.
If recharged battery, when it was only 50%, then around the same level it starts to restart the phone suddenly. Starting a call takes huge amount of current at once (you have to switch on transmitter on higher level for example). Specially if you are in bad coverage area.
If Battery is in bad shape - there will be a sudden voltage drop. If the voltage drop exceeds the limitation of Jolla motherboard/power unit, then Jolla protects itself and switches off.
For me - problems started with bad battery charging regime on travel. Although most Li-Ion batterys should tolerate bad charging regime. After few complete (up to 2% of Jolla "meter") discharges, thing seems to improve slightly. But around 10% it'll still start rebooting.
I second this. I noticed that the Jolla stock battery is very low quality and exhibits high output impedance, which leads to voltage drops in case of current absorption peaks and subsequent device shutdown. Of course, the chances of the voltage going below the shutdown threshold are higher if the battery voltage is already low.

But if you add up high threshold level, dirty contacts, low output voltage, high consumption - then every 4 elements could cause the problem. And if you eliminate one of them (for example switch stuff off or improve battery mating), it already could give the advantage and slight fix.

I've had this problem as well. However, it seems like after I installed "Dalvik stop!" from Warehouse and ran it once, the random reboots have stopped, completely! No idea if it's in any way related... I'll report back if the random reboots continue! I had like a couple a day up until last week!
I first thought, that vibration alarm causes reboot. Then my tip was poor 2g net. Finally I sent it in for warrenty repair. But after weeks it occurs again.
So in my opinion it is a problem with current heaps and loose battery contact springs or weak buffering capacitors. So nearly anything could cause a sudden reboot.
These problems have to be fixed by jolla, in changing some hardware. But sadly there is no official statement after all.

I've had similar situation couple of times recently. Only common thing is that battery charge has been around 20 and 30%. There was full screen 'charging icon' showed on both times before device booted completely. After the boot device worked normally until the day end.

The phone had been in my pocket before, with me being in the office, with normal 294K temperature. While opening the "my apps" page in Harbour, the phone suddenly rebooted. It came in a reboot-loop, and before crashing again, indicating 4% battery left. I reckon it was the low-power-emergency-shutdown which got triggered. I did manage to shut down the device normally. Pulled battery for a 10s or so, reinserted it, and it booted normally. Surprisingly, it now said 50% battery left.

My battery contacts are cleaned and i also used the paper trick in the past. Nothing really helps. My battery fits very well. And as the contact pins are spring loaded it is not possible that they loose contact to the battery. Additionally the phone reboots even if it lying on the desk while I'm using it.
It happens for me mainly in areas where even 2G reception is quite low and often the charging level is ~50%. Phone reboots or even shuts down completely. Rebooting often shows only 4% charge left.
To be honest, for me it sounds like a software bug. This was not happening when the phone was running on one of the early software versions. And I don't think the hardware is damaged/weared out that fast.
