Dear Jolla Community,

We're so excited to launch our Jolla Tablet Indiegogo campaign with the world's first crowdsourced tablet! We have a vision, we have a target, and now we’re looking to you, our incredible community, to help make this happen.

Crowdsourcing has been the foundation of so many amazing, inspiring and independent products, and what it stands for taps directly into Jolla’s ethos. All of our customers can have their say on the direction of our products, and because Sailfish OS is open, you can change whatever you want, whenever you want.

Help us make the Jolla Tablet, then be a part of making it yours! You can do it right here on together.jolla.com. If you have a feature idea for the Jolla Tablet, create a post here with both the tags jolla-tablet and feature-request. Use a separate post for each idea, instead of gathering multiple feature requests in a single post. Please check for existing posts that might contain your idea, in some cases it's better to expand on a similar idea and gather the votes to the same post instead of starting a new one.

Start sharing your ideas and casting your votes now! We will prioritize our feature considerations by the number of votes, and if it's feasible, we will make it happen based on your suggestions.

Pledge today and help us shake up the tech world :) http://igg.me/at/jolla-tablet

With all our gratitude,

Jolla Team

Finally a tablet based on a "real" GNU/Linuxxy operating system. I was so depressed when the Vivaldi project was stopped... I have no idea how you people will be able to maintain tablet and phone branches, but I just love you for trying. Of course I ordered right away. :)

What does it mean for the phone? Will it get less care? What about future updates? Will 2.0 also arrive there?

I don't like tablets, too. It's not mobile to have it in my pocket and if I want to have a bigger screen than my Jolla I take my notebook, but sail on, the tablet seems to have a good quality, that's what I wish for the next Jolla Phone, high end quality

Congratulations on hitting 60% funding within the first hour! Quite a feat!

Even though 100% still isn't achieved, we can already see that this campaign is a success and there is a huge interest in the tablet. Do we have any idea on the timeframe for this project and maybe possible shipping dates (rough estimate is enough for me at this point)?

Regards!

i would be interested if this tablet can be made to be more than a consumption device. i would like to replace my laptop in meetings if possible so a good way for text input is the most important thing to me...swype like input, nice large keys.

after work, i would use this tablet outdoors too. so the screen should work well outdoors under bright sunlight. the current jolla ui with its light on dark theme makes it almost impossible to see anything on the jolla phone (i live in a country with sunshine all 365 days in a year). the only device i ever used with a screen that meets this quality is the n900.

by the way, i live in a country that cannot contribute to the fundraiser campaign to qualify for a device. pity :(

I am putting this here as a placemarker for future hardware as I don't know where else it should go. This is request for a for considering embedding solar charging capabilities into the cases of future equipment. As solar technology is maturing it should be a serious consideration for long term device charging or providing enough power for emergency calls etc. PS there is a lot of work to be done on Jolla but I am amazed at the progress by this small team considering the number of failures of everyone else, including companies like Samsung, Ubuntu, Firefox, Vivaldi etc
