Entire IMAP inbox message list downloaded, causing slowness
After initial fetch, the mail app seems to list the 20 most recent messages, which is reasonable enough. Now I've had it configured to update every 5min, and besides not keeping to that schedule too reliably (but that's another bug...) things seem to mostly work ok for a few days, fetching new messages on top of the initial ones.
After a few days (~ less than a week), the mail app gets rather slow to respond for several hours, and if it does get past the not-responding dialog, I might see it listing messages from 2011–2008 at the top. Once it finishes, the response times improve (yay) but the message list is rather unnecessarily long (all ~7k msgs probably, didn't count).
Nuking .qmf helps for a while.
The server is dovecot 1:2.2.9-1 on debian — granted, the hw it runs on has been a bit flakey, so there is a possibility that it might occasionally say something it didn't mean. (Yeah I should migrate it...)
Please define "few days". I too use dovecot, so we can compare notes.

sp3000 ( 2013-12-30 18:21:58 +0200 )editThanks, I'll let you know in 6 days then, so far it's been as smooth as butter, and works much much better than Harmattan's mail client, albeit lacking its features.
gabriel ( 2013-12-30 18:23:21 +0200 )editRight, more than 6 days have passed, and aside from the known errors, the email client has been quite smooth. Incidentally, I've just lost sync with the server, but that may have been my fault after a rough server upgrade.
gabriel ( 2014-01-07 12:26:44 +0200 )editSounds like your server messed the message IDs, causing the app to download the messages "in between" that actually are old ones, can you collect logs to confirm that ?
