[Bug] No screen after update

So I just got Vaarainjärvi and after leaving the device to install it on its own I came back to a black screen. If I press the power button nothing at all happens on screen, however the charging indicator goes off, so I know the device is on and is reacting.
The screen does show Jolla logo on boot and charging screen when off, so it's not hw.
I tried to ssh, but it does not go to dev mode automatically, and is not on wifi.
I can telnet to bootloader but, stupidly, I did not make a backup. Besides, I cant ever remember setting a device lock so I can't do anything there.

So yeah, it's bricked. Any ideas?

Edit: So I thought I could still do a factory reset in bootloader, but it seems I need the device lock for that too. Is my only option to send it to Jolla? That sucks.

you have to do a reset. by going to this link..

i also got the same problem in my last update ..

and if the recovery image is old you have to have a memory card to do the job by placing an image file in the memory card and copying it to the phone..

Yeah, I thought so. Didn't want to since I have quite a lot of content I wouldn't like to lose. Oh well. I should know to always make backups.

you can do it by saving the data by copying the content to the memory card

It's not on wifi and dev mode is not on auto. And I cant use the bootloader shell since I don't have the device lock (I never use it but apparantly I set a code a year ago).
