All new phone numbers added to an existing and previously synced contact are only stored locally.

[edit] additional info, as seen by the server:

  • Device OS: SailfishOS 1.0
  • Device language: English
  • User agent: SailfishOS/1.0-EAS-0.7.98

  • Access state: Access Granted

  • Access set by: Global Permissions

  • Policy applied: Default - Not applied

  • Policy updated: Not Available
  • ActiveSync version: 14.0

[edit2] * Microsoft Exchange server version 14.3.174.4001

[edit3]

It appears that the sync is working fine. The UI shows that the newly added information is local, but in reality it will be synced back to the server. (see also the attached image)

I'm not sure if this behavior is intentional or not, but for sure the initial claim of this report is wrong and i will close this issue.

saturn, with which provider you are syncing? Looks like someone else is having problems: https://together.jolla.com/question/73297/contacts-dont-sync-two-ways/

@jjaone - Asked the testing team and they cannot reproduce this problem, is your account in always-up to date or are you syncing the account from the pulley menu inside the account ? Note that a sync from email app only syncs emails.

@VDVsx I'm testing it again and now it is working. The UI's shows that the contact is local, but in reality it was synced back. I can only assume that last time i was testing it my network connection was simply messed up. I will update the description of the report.

It's kind of weird thing. I previouly sync my carddav contacts with SyncEvolution to fruux. Now that there's the native support for carddav too, I switched to the native sync method.

What I can experience is that I had to remove fruux account from cell, wipe all the contacts on the phone, re-add the fruux carddav provider to be able to modify the numbers on carddav contacts. You recognize if the data are you seeing is local or remote going into modify contact, if the element has the phone icon is local, if it has the globe, is remote.

Birthdate is neither syncronized from fruux to jolla and from jolla to fruux.

Newly created contacts are not synced with fruux but are store only locally.

If the jolla idea is to work as overlay to the carddav providers, I'd prefer being allowed to choose where to save a newly created contact.

I cannot reproduce the problem here. I'm using Exchange ActiveSync 0.1.55 with Horde 5.2.3 as the server end.
