This happens only if Device lock is enabled and 'Settings->Device lock->Allow feeds while locked' is enabled

  1. Why jumps it directly to the device code prompt when I open Notification from the Lock screen? That's weird behavior. I expect that I can lock at the Notification screen to look without to enter lock code. Yes, if you only peek that is working, but if you slide from bottom you will be asked for the lock code after you have seen for a glance the Notification screen.

  2. My expected behavior would go after enter the lock code also go to the notification screen. (what in fact would be unnecessary if you wanted to look only.

  3. If #1 would be fixed I would expect that when I tap on a message I will get then the Device lock code prompt and when the code was right I will come straight to the App of the notification and not end up in the Home screen.

IMHO the correct behavior would be: Double tab -> Lock screen -> Slide from bottom -> Notification screen -> Tab on a notification -> Device Lock prompt -> App of the Notification

AND

Double tab -> Lock screen -> Slide from bottom -> Notification screen-> Slide from bottom -> Lock screen

I really don't understand the title of this question, so you might want to edit it to clarify what you mean by this. Thanks in advance.. ;)

This clearly is a Bug.

The intention of the user is to bring Notifications Screen (by swiping up). This action gets interrupted because the lock code is enabled and the user is asked to enter the code. (so far, so good - as the release notes mentions)

After entering the code user lands on Home Screen, while one wanted to see the notifications. Whoops!

Indeed, that's the problem. But the question mixes that problem (2 and 3) with a feature (unlock code), so the question is a mix of a complain about a new feature and bug report.

We need to agree on what should be visible and accessible on a locked device. When the device is locked and you swipe up from the bottom slowly without removing your finger from the screen you can see the notification screen. As soon as you let your finger go, i.e. complete gesture, the unlock screen pad appears. During that prolonged gesture I can read my notification screen,I think exposing the notification screen with that slow gesture should not happen while the device is locked.

@pmelas, you can uncheck "Allow feeds while locked" from Settings > System > Device lock.

Seems intentional behavior as per release notes. https://together.jolla.com/question/71741/release-notes-software-version-11127-vaarainjarvi/

Homescreen

Attempting to view events (via swipe-up gesture on the lock screen) while the device is locked now brings up the device lock keypad to allow unlocking the device

For me it's a big BUG. Like I described above, when I want to see my notifications, I want to see them and not unlock my device to see the home screen. It would be at least okay if you would get the notification screen after unlock, but no, you will get the home screen. This is unexpected behavior in an users point of view.

Please rephrase your question to a feature request, then. This is the way it's currently supposed to work, so it isn't a bug.

It's supposed to work in this way? It's supposed to bring up the device lock key pad, but is it really supposed to go to home screen even the intention was to see the notification screen?

Read the relesse notes, the phone behaves as it is supposed to, the UI design in this regard is good, intuitive and makes using the device easier. This is surely not a bug, so I retagged this as feature-request cause the OP seems to want to change the current device behaviour.

https://openrepos.net/content/coderus/patch-return-eventsview-after-unlocking-device

I think this patch fixes the issue. Haven't tried it yet though. Like any other openrepos package, install at your own risk...
