[feature request] automatic power on when loading a depleted battery
Use case (now): - during the night the battery has run completely dry - plug in the charger and wait a couple of minutes until the battery has enough juice to start the phone - power on the phone by pressing the power button => lots to do and time consuming
New feature: - Setting to automatically power on the phone while charging
Use case (then): - just plug in the charger to the phone and after the battery has enough charge to phone turns itself on => easy and no hassle
...premium solution would be to have the phone ask if you want to have the power on or not: a) if the auto-start setting would be ON, it would auto-start if the users does not respond b) if the auto-start setting would be OFF, it would NOT auto-start if the users does not respond
...and yes, two minutes is not lifetime, BUT normally this is how my "empty phone battery" day goes: - I leave home for work and only notice in the car that the phone battery is empty when the bluetooth connection fails - I arrive at work and plug the phone to a charger - I notice that there is an emergency somewhere and rush away to fix some broken server etc - After some hours I remember/notice that my phone is still OFF... and there are a dozen end-users pissed off because they have not been able to reach the IT-dept :)

ehakkarainen ( 2015-01-05 09:57:10 +0200 )editSo you would have to have PIN disabled or auto power on wouldn't register to network anyway?
Pornis ( 2015-01-05 10:44:14 +0200 )editYes, PIN disabled, but security code enabled - safe enough I think... (and a great feature in Jolla in my opinion - feg. N9 just sat there waiting for the security code not booting, while Jolla boots and does not wait for the code)
