Since the last update I experienced several occurences with the Jolla screen becoming unresponsive to certain actions (e.g. swyping from external in still works (to minimize apps), maximizing apps also works but pulley menus or interactions within the apps don't work any longer. Reboot is necessary. I can, however, not really reproduce this bug even though it seems that it might be related to Android apps (but I'm not sure with that). I couldn't find a similar description in TJC - however, I heard of other people having experienced this bug as well. Thanks,

Chris

Hm do you mean that the overall UI-responsivness is laggy? Do you get green LED-flashing sometimes if it is laggy?

Nope. The phone doesnt become laggy at at all but simply does not react to touch gestures within the apps.

I think I've experienced this bug too. An application (Email and Messages I think) will stop responding to presses and swipes, but Sailfish can still minimize and close them. Also, the application screen becomes just a bit "dimmer", which is how I can recognize the bug before I even touch the screen... I have no idea how to reproduce the bug.

I THINK the issue can sometimes be resolved by closing and restarting the application. If not, I just use "Home refresh" (from Warehouse) to restart the GUI.

I do not have any Android applications installed.

Oh, I wasnt aware of this "Home refresh" app but will try this instantly! Thanks for the (possible) work-around!

Hei,

I know this should not be an Answer but I wanted to grab some attention.

I discovered something this morning. Try doing the following:

  • Grab your phone and unlock its screen.
  • Start swiping up and in mid-swipe press the lock/power button.
  • Now unlock the phone again to see what happened.

LVPVS out.

I tested this and on first try my phone touchscreen froze. Application menu was half up. I locked my phone by double pressing power button. And I could not unlock my phone anymore. Unlock screen was half way up on screen. I rebooted phone. I could not make this happen again.

What is supposed to happen? I tried it and nothing special happened.

Hei,

The touch screen is unresponsive on my Jolla after this. Only surround touch events are registered and executed. Only a reboot fixes it for me.

LVPVS out.

One time when was I opening the email app, I opened Events while waiting. Then I swiped to home and something weird happened: the left half of my screen was home and the right half was the email app. Both were fully functional: I could go to lockscreen and app drawer, even switch ambiences by edge-swiping from the left side. In the email app I could use the pulley menu and open emails. Split screen multitasking confirmed? :P Anyway, swiping back to home from the "email-half" of the screen fixed the issue.

This issue seems resolved in more current releases (1.1.7.28++). At least I haven't experienced this issue for quite some time now. Will stay alerted though.

Hei,

It just happened to my device running on 1.1.9.28 early. I had to force-restart it.

Just saying. LVPVS out.

Just reset the phone to factory settings to try to resolve this problem. Upgraded to 1.1.7.28. Now this still happened: The touch screen is unresponsive and you cannot answer an incoming call. Pressing the Power button cancelled the call, but did hang up on the caller :-( .
