Whatsup version 0.1 landed... Tried it out and it works quite fine.

I also installed it and looks good. A bit different from Mitäkuuluu but not worse. And you get immediate updates again! I hope I can delete the android app soon.
There is still a question.. can the app be closed but the messages still arrive? Is there some kind of listener service active?
PatsJolla ( 2015-04-10 13:23:45 +0200 )editHey, let's switch to Telegram: https://telegram.org/dl. And no more stupid restrictions. Already, developed native client.
On a slightly off-topic, I would also like to see a native Viber client. I just convinced people to leave the unsecure WhatsApp and prefer Viber (better encryption etc., though proprietary, but so is Telegram). I've been searching for possibilities to merge it with the Messages app, but to no avail. I even sent them some feedback! But in the end, anything is better than WhatsApp. ;)
raketti ( 2015-02-24 08:49:24 +0200 )editfor me the most important thing is: what messenger most of my friends and contacts are using? in my case it is whatsapp!!!
it is neccessary for me to have the same messenger, or better a native one like mitakuuluu.
peter-berlin ( 2015-02-24 11:25:15 +0200 )edit@peter-berlin same thing for me. I have never started using WhatsApp, so it was great to get my friends on Viber. Now I (we) only need to put some pressure to Viber to a) release an API for someone to use, or to release a Sailfish App. I'm quite happy with the Android version and how well it works but native is native. :)
raketti ( 2015-02-24 11:46:38 +0200 )editNo:
Telegram claims to be secure, but is already criticized: http://security.stackexchange.com/questions/49782/is-telegram-secure
Why switch from one bad solution to another one? There is xmpp with encryption and OTR, no need for a new protocol, server infrastructure ... a new walled garden.
luchmhor ( 2015-02-24 12:00:10 +0200 )editthere was.
