What did the Russians want from Jolla?
Those of us who follow Jolla know that the Russians announced an interest to support and promote Jolla, and followed it up by inviting Jolla officials to Russia (see Russia to help Tizen and Sailfish Developers for more info).
Jolla officials did attended the meeting, which was a gathering of government officials and many other Russian and foreign private companies, but haven't said anything about it.
We are all really interested to know what the Russian proposed, and the direction Jolla plans to take Sailfish OS with regards to these proposal(s). Would someone from Jolla officially clarify?
(I do believe the announcement of Sailfish Secure is 1 of the outcome of that meeting, but we want to know more ... apart from satisfying our curiosity, it should also alleviate the fears of some who think Jolla might be comfortable making secret agreements with any government.)
Did you already read the official protocol by the russian Ministry of this event here? :)

sifartech ( 2015-03-06 14:00:38 +0200 )editAlso a vote against such racism as the guy "scribe" started.
I am a german Guy living in Germany AND Russia and would be glad if the people meet with respect and understanding. My wife and partly my relatives are Russians and I expect YOUR RESPECT Mister "scribe"
Please stop people making such stupid and bad comments like this from "scribe"
A clear red card for him
As for the russian administration: Why should they NOT use sailfish as a strategical platform. Android and Apple does not eone second hesitate to sell phones in Russia. And they also deliver phones to the USA, Canada, Germany, NSA, US Army, all Governments, the GHCQ and every dictator round about the world.
And Jolla could be glad to deliver their products to ANY interested customer.
But this perspectives does not harm us we have in our hands. This is only a case of the partners in such business.
zash1958 ( 2015-03-06 17:07:34 +0200 )editI also want to know!
Odorobo ( 2015-03-06 17:18:32 +0200 )edit@zash1958: Respekt Alter! Would be nice if we can leave such things as "respect" out of such discussions! We can all communicate here civilised. No interest in from where someone's wife is or if a country/government requires which level of "respect". This is childish school-yard level...
Also interested to hear more about any support Jolla might see from Russia!
