When connecting 16 ohms headsets to the phone I get an annoying constant clicking noise in audio apps. The clicks (20-30 Hz) are clearly hearable at low volumes and when a song is played with volume completely off. The problem occurs with and without the charger connected

This is a very annoying bug for me, so I've been trying to figure out what's going on. I've found a way to make the ticking sound stop!
First; I'm using a reasonably cheap no-brand one-button in-ear earphone bought at Clas Ohlson, a hardware store in Oslo.
To avoid the ticking sound, follow these instructions.
This workaround will last until you unplug the earphone or restart/reboot the phone. It also works if you switch steps 3 and 4.
You should now be able to hear the expected audio without the ticking sound. Yay! \o/
The fact that this works, suggests to me that there's something odd going on within the headphone detection code (I guess that would reside somewhere in an audio kernel module)...

In my question there was an answer by @zlatko
N9 wired headset is not compatible with Jolla socket.
And one by @pizzulicchio asking
is it possible to have a compatibility list of the current fully compatible cord headphone?
So maybe this is the answer. Not all are compatible and it would be perfect to get a list of compatible headphones. Maybe we can comment question, if we know of compatible headphones, as I did for example with original iphone-headphones.

There is no bug. You are using incompatible earphones. Buy other earphones.
to call headphones incompatible makes no sense. The only thing that differs is the input impedance, and if that is wrong, they're maybe not loud enough. A headphone is nothing but a coil, membrane and magnet. So there is no special driver or something like that. This loud click (happened just 2 times randomly, while music paused and using browser) is really annoing and a pain in the ear! I think it has something to do with audio chip power save..

This one reports ticking sound to occur during playback where in other case playback is totally fine without any problems, but the ticking sound appears on no playback. Other is probably about standard of Jack this maybe related to problems related too impedance?
