I am on a Galaxy Nexus with Tahkalampi (1.0.8.19). I cannot install any software. I have checked the other three threads on this error, but no help. I cannot register:

[

root@Jolla nemo]# ssu register

Last operation failed:
Host requires authentication

I cannot do pkcon refresh:

[root@Jolla nemo]# pkcon refresh

I really like the look and feel of SailfishOS, but the few apps in the bare installation are too meager for daily use ...

I installed from http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/general/august-3rd-sailfishos-galaxy-nexus-alpha-t2837096

Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

Edited: March 24th: Thanks for the advice, will try out these things soon. To be in accordance with together.jolla.com wishes I will move to a more appropriate place. Will post a link to that place later.

I have a similar issue on a Jolla Phone.

I tried updating my jolla account more than once, and it fails, althoughI can log in with the same credentials on the PC.

ssu status shows:

Device Model: UNKNOWN (UNKNOWN / UNKNOWN)

The rest of the data seem correct. I am on 1.1.2.16 and if I try to check for updaets, I get the "Account needs to be updated" message.

Do I need a factory reset? I backed my data to the sdcard, but I will not get to a usable wifi network until next weekend, so avoiding a big update would be best for me.

On ported devices, that do not have access to store or jolla-account, can't have repositories pointing to something called "store...", accessing these will fail.

In this case, you need to disable store and adaptation0 -repositories

ssu dr store
ssu dr adaptation0
devel-su pkcon refresh

installing something by sideloading, i.e. download it with browser and install it via transfer-ui menu, will for some reason enable these two repositories.

Device registration status: not registered is just like it should be. You should not use the "Developer Updates" eg ssu register setup. Entering the credentials needed a factory reset on earlier versions. For no apps or updates, other users have reported issues with installing anything on the Jolla with 1.0.x installed, you might need to get a newer version of SFOS ported to your Nexus. Don't know if ssu works for upgrading or if you need a fresh install - follow simo's explanations please.

Jolla has wished that Sailfish OS issues on other devices than Jolla phone / tablet would be handled at freenode IRC Channel #sailfishos-porters. Other option might be to ask help on related forums like XDA or TMO. I remember reading about a script that enables Jolla Store...

Just one easy check: You did create a new Jolla account for that device, right? (existing one doesn't work)

Do ports need the account entered at developer updates?

chemist ( 2015-03-23 09:57:57 +0300 )edit

no, and the developer updates setting should not be touched either
