I have trouble connecting Jolla to my computer in a Suite mode. After I plug it to the USB cable and press "PC Connection" i can hear both PC and phone sounding the connection sound but nothing else happens most of the time. How to fix?

My OS is Windows 7.

I don't know if it is MTP in general or Jolla's implementation of it but I find it so slow and unreliable that I have abandoned it altogether in favour of SFTP. On Windows, you can use e.g. WinSFTP. It has the additional advantage that it allows you to browse the whole file system, not just the exported folders.

If you really want (or have) to use the USB PC connection, I suggest starting by trying a different cable. A lot of USB cables, especially the cheap ones, have given me problems with the mass storage mode on the N900. This might be a similar problem.

I noticed recently, that the MTP connection works more reliable on my Linux Laptop than on the Windows 7 PC I use at work. On Windows I sometimes have to disconnect an re-connect the cable, until it works. I don't know if that is only my observation.

As @pichlo said the usb cable is also a crucial part. The one shipped with the jolla should work. If you buy one in a shop don't take a cheap one, these are often only usable for charging, not for data exchange.

My Samsung Galaxy S3 has the same issue on win7, so it might be a windows bug....

Please search this community site with some of the following keywords: USB, PC, MTP, Windows, Linux, Mac, files, storage, access. There are lots of similar questions.

There is no PC-Suite as that was a Nokia thing. You should be able to access the phone memory from the PC filemanager. Jolla uses the MTP-protocol, which should work out of the box on a recent Windows OS. If using Linux search the distros wiki for MTP.

Mmmkay but that's the problem that it does not.

Please search this community site for questions depicting my problem with correct answers, not just "similar" before advising me (or other people) to search this community site for answer.
Your implementation that searching wasn't the first thing I've tried is irritating.

Having the same problem with two Windows 7 PCs too, it's annoying. Did not find a way to get it fixed but at least you can avoid physically disconnecting and reconnecting the cable by

  • opening the Windows device manager
  • searching for the device "Sailfish" in the category "Portable Devices", it's easy to find as it is marked with a yellow "!"
  • deactivating and reactivating it until it finally connects

Try using a short USB cable. Long cable and usb extension make mine unreliable.
