Hi everyone,

Has anyone tried pairing a bluetooth gamepad to the device, and successfully used it in an Android app?

I have DS3 controller, but despite compiling the sixaxis daemon on the device it just wont pair without a USB cable and Jolla doesn't have USB Host capability.

So now I'm looking for easy alternatives - product suggestions please!

Mentioned this also in https://together.jolla.com/question/92741/where-are-bluetooth-input-devices-mounted/

Android app support for Bluetooth input events is still on the todo list, so currently you can get controller events to native apps but they aren't passed to Android apps. It will be done in a future sw update though.

Note that sixaxis devices aren't 100% standards-compliant and IIRC also require enabling a kernel driver so they would need more work on top of that.

So today I recieved iPega PG-9021 gamepad, which did pair fine with the Jolla.

The pad itself fits the phone fine, and the buttons and triggers seem fine (though the D-Pad is truly terrible). None of these buttons have any effect on Jolla, but there are volume buttons on it which Jolla does respond accordingly to.

Unfortunately trying to use it with Android apps proved fruitless since it just doesn't seem to be seen by the app, perhaps because the HID version is too new?

I think I recall it being registered as a HID v2 device, which according to this says that Jolla seems to only support HID v1(?)

Anyhoo, the rest of this issue is addressed here:
