It could be useful to have a place that reference every official sites (Store/Shop, Harbor, Together, Twitter, ...). And maybe communautary ones.

Edit: Why not make this post the place to collect some important links, so that they can be found here too (most of them are already mentioned below so we'll just need to get the links here ..)

Edit: too difficult to edit post with a Jolla, but some links here: http://www.allboutn9.info/p/jolla.html?m=1

List of Jolla-related links:

Institutional

Community (and official)

Really (/only) community

Development related sites

  • NemoMobile
  • MerProject
  • Qt-project ..

Yes, I think this would be great - there are so many sites around Jolla and Sailfish.

How about a community wiki? There is much more information to share than just links to all relevant sites!

I think that JUST links are missing and @TeHeR is asking after these. Community wiki is not right place for "portal".

Yes, your right. That would be another question...

hwesselmann ( 2014-01-03 17:57:31 +0300 )edit

I don't agree at all creating a new "portal". We have jolla.com and sailfishos.org as official domains. Fan and hobby sites are very welcome to point to unofficial forums like they do already.

@Jukka: you area talking about 2 different things. You disagree what: a portal or a "portal for fan sites"?

If it is clear for you, fell free to explain the links between the "official" sites, and how to find those sites please. Together is official or not? The twitter jollaHQ account is official or not? Are there other sites? Where can I find them please?

All social media sites can be found at the bottom of jolla.com. So, at least jolla.com and social media (twitter etc. ) are binded together.

Fair enough, but social media to me are the least important. I bumped into a person in another forum that was looking for Sailfish sites and couldn't find it. Presumably search engines don't display them too highly ranked.

Yes, I am also looking forward to portal/banner/whatever where ALL Sailfish related sites are visible. Actually its interesting that this together.community is not more visible in jolla.com -pages.

SEO-optimization is different issue, but I trust that Jolla staff know how to optimize their own sites. However, it will take some time to see results of the SEO.

LaruX ( 2014-01-03 14:23:42 +0300 )edit

The test I've made is to search for this site (together.jolla.com) in few search engines. I think it is well referenced in sites taking about Jolla and general IT sites, but maybe not by Jolla official site itself.

TeHeR ( 2014-01-03 14:31:26 +0300 )edit

Yes, I think so. Askbot is off-the-shelf product with integrated SEO solutions. Hoever, main problem is missing "portal" which binds all sites together.

LaruX ( 2014-01-03 14:35:42 +0300 )edit

It is true that Together is not linked from Jolla, there are reasons to that and it will change in the future. New portal would just make things more confusing.

Naturally the link collection should include many Twitter/Facebook accounts and pages cause those are the places where Jolla was born. And they still attract many followers and inerested ppl.

Also there are a few blogs that blog mostly about Jolla and sone of those have forums too: JollaTides, JollaUsers, JollaSuomi (and many other national portals), JollaMobile, JollaReview (by Sino), etc..

More related to.SailfishOS and develipment aspects are the site SailfishOS.org, SailfishOS Devel mailing list, freenode chats (#sailfisos and #jollambile chanbels), and.the.WiKis and sites of NemoMobile, MerProject and Qt-project ..

One nore official 'site' is the Jolla Knowledge base at jolla.zendesk.com that is the web-portal of Jolla Care.

Also, some relevant (official) email addresses could be mentioned too.

Just curious; why should they not be referenced in Jolla related link list?

foss4ever ( 2014-01-29 11:52:01 +0300 )edit

Some user talk about that on comment.
