I have two albums that are both named 'Greatest Hits'.

When i select via Albums, only 'Greatest hits - Various artists' shows up, that is wrong as they are in fact different albums, but ok. When i select the artist, and then in the subview the album 'Greatest Hits', all the songs of the other Greatest Hits album show up aswell.

I am not sure if this was always like this, i only noticed this in 1.1.4.29. Can anybody confirm this?

Yes, confirmed on 2.0.4.14 (Fiskarsinjoki). Import Stratovarius's "Polaris" album and Chisu's "Polaris" album. The albums both show the tracks of both albums which is annoying.

I had a similar problem when adding several albums with the same artist name. The only way I found to solve this was to totally retag my mp3/music collection. (I was amazed at how many albums were incorrectly tagged originally).

I used MP3Tag available for free at http://www.mp3tag.de/en/download.html

Once you've added your freshly retagged albums, open terminal and run this command tracker-control -es give it a few minutes to do its thing and then fire up Mediaplayer and check out how it's arranged now.

Media Player still could be more smart. I have albums I bought online with the same behaviour, I have not take the time to re-tag is myself because every other device I use can differentiate them.

@Thaodan - Musicbrainz Picard is built-in to Mp3Tag as a Tagging Source. I was unaware it was available as a stand alone software, thanks for that.

@Markkyboy: I added a download to the client.

Ok, this is a good workaround. nevertheless, other clients are able to differ between those albums and the jolla music player should be too. Especially if i choose them via artist > album.
