Are there some instructions how to compile and install OSS WiFi drivers

There are serious privacy issues with closed WiFi drivers that doesn't allow user to control which sensitive data is sending to the world.
- You can't change and therefore randomize your MAC address during WiFi scan.
- Also you can't change MAC address at any time. So if network requires some identification (for example with your ID or your phone number) it is possible to link you as owner of Jolla and your phone as device using certain network (or certain services over the Internet).
- (Not so privacy but important speaking about hackability) Also it is impossible to configure wifi adapter to monitor mode.
I heard a lot of words about Jolla as privacy oriented phone and hackable phone. So it is quite strange for such phone to have so limited access to WiFi chip.
As mentioned by @rainisto that there is an open source version of such drivers. These drivers should allow more control over WiFi than closed ones.
So it is quite natural for Jolla user to have an opportunity to use such drivers. But for example, I haven't experience with compiling modules for another device kernel, also I'm not sure that I understand now how to replace stock drivers by compiled drivers.
I'm wandering are there some instructions how to compile and install that OSS drivers to Jolla phone? Or may be some more general guides? Any information will be usable!
