Hi all,

since 1 month my Jolla doesnt charge anymore. When I put in the charger it says; battery temperature to low take device indoors. While the temperature in the Netherlands is ~21c. With the android app CPUZ i can see that the battery health is cold. Probably is this caused by some sensor failure? The battery should be at room temperature. I've turned it off and on several times. I've tried removing the battery and putting it back. I have no idea what's wrong. It's been working fine for the past 7 months

Is the temperature sensor placed in the phone or in the battery? and can it be ignored via some kernel tricks or do i need to replace hardware components?

regards,

There is a thermistor in the battery. Its nominal value is 10 kOhm. If the failure is in the thermistor, you could try to shunt the middle battery contact to the ground one with a 10 kOhm resistor, and the phone will read about 25 degrees. If you have another battery, put it in your Jolla: if the error is not there anymore, the fault is in the battery, otherwise it is in the phone (possibly in the contact or in the voltage-reading electronics).
