All in all, a nice pile of messy communication :)
EDIT : even more goodies coming and more info.
EDIT #2 : according to sources at the event, it seems to have a replaceable battery (but the phone at the event is a prototype)
EDIT #3 : "New" SoC seems to account for bigger screen resolution (TBC, 720p)
EDIT #4 : Some sites report the new soc to be Snapdragon 600 SOC, so a 1.9GHZ Quadcore; suggestion of possible ones are snapdragon 410, 615
EDIT #5 : It seems the final device's hw is not the one showcased: http://www.digit.in/mobile-phones/intex-to-launch-first-smartphone-running-sailfish-os-20-on-thursday-26574.html
EDIT #6 : New phone model confirmed to be Intex Aqua Fish; no specs yet tho.
EDIT #7: SailfisOS review http://www.thetechbulletin.com/sailfish-os-revived-by-indian-vendors-27111/
EDIT #8: a closer look at the AquaFish Demo HW https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KNtpNVqCBE
EDIT #9: a commercial from intex

Another source says the specs are similar to the existing phone :(
Naveen ( 2015-07-15 08:27:14 +0200 )editMore interesting is the new UI iDMos; but no words on the battery being replaceable... IF the battery is replaceable, we might be getting a better ones for our jphones as well! :D
tortoisedoc ( 2015-07-15 08:35:35 +0200 )editStill trying to wrap my head around this. It's too early to judge, I guess. But it seems that they switched the manufacturer of the original phone and put in a better screen. So this could be seen as a Jolla 1.5.
lispy ( 2015-07-15 09:16:26 +0200 )editThe SoC is different tho ; Snapdragon 410 vs the Snapdragon 400 that is in the Jolla phone EDIT : also internal storage on jolla is 16 GB
tortoisedoc ( 2015-07-15 09:20:27 +0200 )editI guess the SOC had to be different if they wanted a better screen. I think I read that the current SOC is limited to 540 x 960.
