Edit: Reverting back to original topic + closing.

After the 1.0.7.16 update, it was still not working. I deleted my account and recreated it and now, the emails are correctly deleted on server! (I tested by configuring my account manually and using the new automatic settings retrieval, all good!).

By the way, the automatic settings retrieval works perfectly for Outlook, we put the email/password and it's done! Very user friendly! Thanks @VDVsx :)

Hello. I have configured an Outlook.com (a.k.a. Hotmail) email account using IMAP. When I delete an email, it disappears from the phone but not from the server (it's still in Inbox).

With a Gmail account or an other IMAP account, it works as expected, so it's maybe because Microsoft just discovered IMAP and there is something wrong with them? I know I could use Exchange but it's almost a read-only account, so I prefer to stay simple and don't add useless contacts in my phone. Has anybody encountered the issue? (SailfishOS v1.0.2.5)

Does this help you to see the problem? Maybe this is something for you, @VDVsx ?

Not really, this shows only the login phase, I can't see any move or delete command send to the server.

VDVsx ( 2014-01-24 17:02:05 +0300 )edit

Exactly, @VDVsx - But the mail(s) are deleted on the device. I also tried with a big number of mails I deleted but nothing: I created a logfile called mailapp.log.

 cat mailapp.log |grep delete

No string "delete" was found. How is the message handling in the application? I press the delete button and wait 5 seconds. Are they deleted locally first?

This is exactly one of the bugs I meant as one of issues in: https://together.jolla.com/question/8329/email-increase-reliability-and-robustness-of-the-email-app-and-im/

Here (in the comments) you can find a description how to enable logging for the email application.
