solved - Factory Reset: telnet refused [answered]

I have a brand new jolla phone. During the first os update it was frozen. It will not start up anymore. I tried to start with volume power down having pressed into the rescue mode. While connected with USB to my linux laptop, it's ip adress is 10.42.66.80. I can send a ping, but telnet connection is refused.
Any hints are welcome.
