After I launch the media app, I have to wait several seconds until anything shows up in it (even if my media library has already been indexed). Until then, I get a message which says "No content available. Transfer some songs to your device." - This is quite of scary, almost suggesting to me that all my music is deleted!

Unfortunately, it seems that the music app doesn't scale for larger music collections. (Even scrolling among items is a hassle if you have music from many artists.)

While I understand that it takes long to load a large music collection (even if it's indexed already), I would rather see a BusyIndicator and a message which says something like "Please wait until we load your music."

I've seen very slow music scanning too. If the scanning is inevitably slow the media application could trust an internal database and only update it when user requests it.

When opening media app and chosing music always shows first that there isn't any. Then they show up and sometimes accompanied with banner that says "unknown application has stopped working - wait/kill". Same banner comes when chosing random and scrolling now playing is slow.
