Disabled mobile network at Sailfish 2.0.2.48 (Aurajoki) [answered]

hello everybody,

I have a new SIM card after Aurajoki upgrade on my Jolla and the Internet is in disabled status. I've tried to enable by tapping short or long or anyway but nothing happened. I've tried to set it manually but there are no enough options in Settings > Mobile network because MCC, MNC and others are missing. Is there any other possibility to get back these options or set them in other way?

My network operator said to set these: - APN: internet.vodafone.net - usrename: (empty) - password: (empty) - protocol: (it can be both) - MCC: 216 - MNC: 70 - Authentication type: PAP

I've tried this too https://together.jolla.com/question/51128/mobile-data-switcher-grey-out/ but it was the same result. (I've put back my old SIM and it's still working, the Internet is not disabled)

Are you able to do phonecalls with your new simcard and send messages? If not, maybe it's not activated yet? [edit] Did you try the sim in another phone?

Yes, I can make phone calls, send SMS and I've tried it in another phone (in a SONY Xperia) and it works. So i think there is no problem with the SIM card. My old SIM was telenor and i've started to use my Jolla with it. Every upgrade was made with that card. I think there is the key point but I just really don't want to make a factory reset. I want to try every other option before :)

Ok. Good to hear. I suggest you convert your post to an answer. Sounds like a good solution for the problem.

So, I'm done. Problem solved and my network is working now :)

this post was very helpful https://together.jolla.com/question/51128/mobile-data-switcher-grey-out/ but I've added some other settings, because my problem wasn’t the same here is the method: - in my explanation i will use 216052634521560 as my old SIM(telenor) and 216703122425550 as my new SIM(vodafone) - use developer mode (Settings > Developer mode and Enable it) - open Terminal where write the following commands:

  1. devel-su (to get root access if you know your lock code)
  2. systemctl stop ofono.service (you have to stop your network)
  3. cd /var/lib/ofono/ (go to ofono directory)
  4. ls -la (to see what's in the directory)

    • you have to see 'iccidmap' and ’ril’ files and two directories for every used SIM cards(so if you used two SIMs, you will see four directories):

      • for telenor 216052634521560 and 216052634521560-3
      • for vodafone 216703122425550 and 216703122425550-3
    • note the name of the directory with the latest date but not with the '-3' ending (just 15 numbers)

  5. vi iccidmap (open iccidmap in vi editor)
    • shift + R and Enter to edit the file
    • delete the line with the wrong(!) 15 numbers (it was 216052634521560 for me)
    • :x and Enter (to save and quit)
  6. vi ril (to edit ril file)
    • shift + R and Enter to edit the file
    • go behind ’=’ with the cursors and write the 15 numbers (it was 216703122425550 for me)
    • :x and Enter (to save and quit)
  7. cd ./216703122425550 (write your 15 numbers and go to that directory)
  8. cat gprs (check the content of the ’gprs’ file in the right folder)
    • if it’s not correct than edit the file with vi on the same way with the network operators data
  9. systemctl start ofono.service (to start your network service)

and your Mobile network will be enabled and you can connect now

Awesome! This answer helped me solve a problem after getting a new SIM card with Sonera (i.e. change was Sonera -> Sonera). Somehow the phone (Jolla 1 on Sailfish 2.0.5.6 Haapajoki) was stuck on defaulting to the old SIM card.

Thanks for the infos in this post, but it don't fix my problem. Seams that i have a bit different kind of problem. Maybe this is related to Situations App, today i wake up and my phone stay in flightmode i have to turn it of by hand and than my mobil network is broken and can not be reactivated.

It try the upper solution, but i get a bit different thinks, my iccidmap looks good and i dont have i ril file, only a firmodem file with other content like the upper post.

but what i found was in the gprs file in the settings part powered=0 But it seams the only true and false values allowed here, i changed it to true and it works again.

So what i actually do:

# get shell on your phone (ssh nemo@192.168.2.15)
devel-su
systemctl stop ofono.service
cd /var/lib/ofono/
ls -la
# go into to the folder with 15 charakter long nummeric line without the -3 on end
# in my case 26207395298****
cd 26207395298****
vi gprs
# change under [Settings] powerd value to true (Powered=true)
# leave and save the file (:x)
systemctl start ofono.service

This fixed it for me.

Build 2.0.2.51 (Aurajoki) [worst upgrade ever ... hopefully ...]

Thanks karloff, this is it. At least for me (hooked up with O2 Germany as well) on a Jolla 1 (SF 2.0.2.51). What drives me wonder is how this parameter got an invalid setting. Everything was working fine till two/three days ago.
