On my JollaC two email accounts are set up and working perfectly. Now I disabled them in accounts settings and the mailboxes are not shown in mail app anymore. But I still get notifications (sound, led and message on events view). In my opinion disabled accounts should not fetch data from server anymore!

I found old bug "email account not in use still shows in email app", but this old and also not the problem here.

EDIT by Edz - this problems is also present in 3.0.2.8 Oulanka (Jolla1, POP account)

Due to unprecedented amounts of spam email, I needed to disable my primary account, much to my surprise, I'm still receiving email.

This strange behaviour still existing in 2.1.2.3. And it seem to act even worse. Seein the newly received message in notifications and when I tap on it, the message is in inbox while there is an info that no inbox is configured.

Happens in Xperia as well! I disabled the mail-account while in reach of a open hotel WLAN-area for security reasons, but mails are still fetched!! And in this case my passwords are delivered as well, potentially seen for everyone. Not good!!

Edit: converted this to answer for pushing it up.

@Jolkas

Out of pure curiosity and for the sake of more info, are the accounts IMAP or POP?

@Edz: At my side it is a POP account. But it is not depending on account type, because it is also happening for CardDav accounts. They are still visible in Calendar app when disabled. So I think it is a general problem of account handling.

@SaimenSays - okay, thanks, just wondered. I have upwards of 8 email accounts, all POP and if I disable any or all of them, I don't get any notifications. I also don't use Card/Caldav.

@Edz: For me as well a POP account. Do you have SailfishX or an older "version"?

@Jolkas, sorry, I should have made that distinction; I am using Jolla1 on 2.1.3.7
