If there were people strictly dedicated to making a device that would be completely unusable as a mobile phone, hardly could they do it better than Jolla. In pursuit for someting extra-cool, original and diverted as far as possible away from intuitive clarity, people's habits an common sense, they invented an interface that is not merely useless - but contra-usable it is!

Well, after two years of torments, after tens of important call that I missed just because being unable to remember how to answer them, I finally got used to making calls and even answering them... But not to terminate them! Today I lost about EUR60 just because I forgot to proceed that compleх procedure of ending the call, and left it active for half an hour... an international call. That's enough for me. That's more than this entire piece of junk worths now. From that minute onwards, never shall I use it for voice calls. Only as a tablet and SMS messenger, however inconvinient it is with its small screen, and mobile-to-WiFi router. I'd better buy a very basic phone with hardware buttons for a fraction of this price, and let my poor pockets to be laden with another mandatory toy for a modern human.

So, how to disable voice completely? As well as Contacts app, whose UI is in no way better than the Phone.

do i get it right? you actually dont know how to end a call? ehm- if youre the caller, hit big red button, when done. if youre the one caled it should end automatically. also if the other side hangs up it ends. so your 60 eur call would mean that no one hung up... use wifi only? start flymode, activate wifi. or just dont use simcard... after two years usage maybe do tutorial..

You shouldn't use how-to tag to ask how something is done but rather explain how something is done.

Sell it and move on.

Retagged. The above is a question, not a step-by-step instruction on how to achieve something with a Sailfish device.

You are right. The dialer must have been designed by the devil himself. Hell, having to activate a pulley menu to call is nonsense, especially since I have the whole screen sitting idle doing nothing. Still more is that I usually select the first entry (call contact) when I actually want to enter a number, because I want to call a contact whose number I have got... and after three years I still get surprised when rather than the keypad I get the contacts list. There is nothing to invent in dialers, copy the Symbian one or even the latest Android one.

i miss the function disable incoming voice calls too, but using of mobile data on. in some contracts you have two sim cards with the same number. And some contracts like telefonica o2 Germany you cant disable or setup incoming calls on sim 1 or 2. the incomming calls will receive on both sim cards. it is nice if there is an Option to auto cancel incoming calls.

what is if you have one phone and one tablet and on both only one sim card? and you dont want receive calls on the tablet but using mobile data? sure you can Volumen down the Sound but its not a good solution. better if there is an option to block all incoming calls automatcly.
