Hi, my flashed Xperia X cannot connect to the mobile data with T-mobile SIM. I called my operator to get exact APN details to be sure that default settings is correct but changing didn't help.
When I go to Mobile network settings and tap on mobile data to enable it, the device states "Connecting" but it never connects and I cannot stop the connecting. Basically only way is to go back to general settings and go again to Mobile network settings. When I do that the mobile data states "Enabled" but I'm still not connected to internet nor does the mobile data icon appear.
The wifi is working fine and I never had this problem with the very same sim card/operator on my Jola 1 (everything worked by default without any need to manually update the settings).
Is this general problem with Sailfish X and if yes is there any way how to fix it?

Edit: SIM from other operator is working fine and it looks like I'm not the only one who has problem with T-mobile SIM card. Is there anyone who has functional T-mobile SIM in Sailfish X (Xperia X)?

Edit2: I had another round with operator and I was told that my APN is setup to just "internet" which is wrong. But my Data Access Point Name is setup to "internet.t-mobile.cz" so it might happen that everything after the dot (".") is ignored. The second card I tried is using "internet" only as APN so I cannot check whether the problem is in Sailfish X settings. Also this setting with dot is working fine with my old JP1.
Is anyone else using Acces Point Name with dot(s) without a problem or should I just throw it back on operator?

Edit3: I checked config files of JP1 (version 2.1.2.3) and Sailfish X (version 2.1.3.5) in /var/lib/ofono directory and there is definitely something changed between these two versions.
I tried to copy config file from JP1 to Sailfish X device but it didn't help neither so I' out of the ideas.
Does anybody know if there is some way how to force APN and all these settings outside the network settings?

Edit4:I found an error message in Ofono log application and sent it to the ofono-debug@jolla.com as application suggested however I didn't received any answer. I would expect at least some generic reply like: "Thanks for reporting this error, we are working on the fix" or something like that. Also some workaround would be nice as I'm still without mobile data because of the faulty SW that was working on JP1.
How do I know that this error was actually acknowledged as bug and it's being worked on?

Edit5: Upon advice from this thread I re-flashed my xperia to android and back to Sailfish with my SIM card inside and everything is working fine now. I'm not sure whether the problem was in first installation (that went wrong) or the installation really needs to have the SIM card in but problem is solved.

Any chance you could add to that what carrier you're on? Because from my understanding the software on the SIM card (it's basically a machine in itself) can differ pretty drastically from carrier to carrier and this can cause incompatibilities with different devices.

Also, have you tried putting the SIM card back into the Jolla 1 and/or cleaning the contacts? I put SailfishX on my Xperia X last Saturday only to find I need to replace my SIM card so I haven't been able to test the mobile connection myself.

I'm using T-mobile in Czech republic.
Yeah, I already thought about putting the SIM card back to JP1 and trying another SIM in Xperia. Unfortunately I don't have it with me at the moment so it will have to wait until I'll get back home.

Had similar problem with my Jolla C. I had to get new nano SIM card because my old card was already 4-5 years old and had not this capability to insert into nano slot. My operator is Telia (Finland). Immediately after inserting the new card into Jolla C I noticed that there was no 4G data connection. Asked the person at Telia shop what could be matter. He took my phone and scrolled settings. Guess he managed to activate 4G data by simply connecting and disconnecting mobile data button. Actually there was nothing wrong with the SIM card but somehow Jolla C could not synchronise with the SIM card data. Mysterious?? Mobile data (same SIM card as in my JOLLA C) in my XPERIA works without problems.

Well, I tried another (newer) SIM card (from different operator) and mobile data worked from start with default settings. So it looks like the phone and Sailfish X are both functional.
Then I inserted my T-mobile SIM card back to JP1 and it worked without any problem so I guess the SIM card doesn't work correctly with my Xperia X.

If the mobile data is cycling and it worked before its most likely the APN settings. Mine didnt work in the Xperia until i tried three different ones. It kindof depends on the Provider and whether you use the phone for data only or to make actual calls/write SMS messages. But generic data settings are:

apn: fast.t-mobile.com mmsc: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/waspenc

Aoart from that make sure that only IP is selected not Dual or IP6.

I think I already tried every possible settings :-( I was playing with Network mode, different Data access point settings (changing apn, IP protocol version), allowing and disallowing Roaming .. but nothing helped. It always get stucked in Connecting while in event screen the mobile data are "enabled" but never really connected.
What works like a charm in JP1 doesn't work in Sailfish X
I would already give up if I wasn't able to run different SIM in Sailfish X without any problem

It looks like some SIM cards simply doesn't work as other users don't have problem with t-mobile cards.
I ordered a new SIM as last option but I will probably need to wait till next week to receive it.

I tried several sim cards (all brand new): FONIC (O2) prepaid SI: works; Simplytel (O2): doesn't even ask for the PIN, no voice, no mobile data; Congstar (Telekom): doesn't even ask for the PIN, no voic, no mobile data. All sim cards work in my Jolla 1. Now I am completely lost. Any ideas?

I had the same problem (no data connection, while voice calls work fine, SF OS 2.1.2.3) on my Jolla phone 1. The problems started for me when updating to SF 2.1.2.3. I know it is not exactly the same as the other issues in this thread, since it is not Sailfish X, but it's similar, because I also have a Congstar SIM card (T-mobile network Germany). I solved the problem here with setting network selection from Automatic to "congstar". Maybe this is helpful for someone ... Update: I forgot to mention: my SIM is already several years old.

I already tried that but no luck in my case. At the moment I hope that new update release 2.1.3.7 will help but I'm not sure what to do if it won't. There is literally no response to my emails or threads from Jolla...

@sepuka: Please do not send email to Jolla. Instead, sign in to Zendesk and file a ticket at https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

@jovirkku: Thanks for your reply. I'll create the ticket but why is there sent option with email in Ofono Log app when nobody is actually reading it? This is quite missleading...
