[bug] Proximity sensor/light sensor stops working after several minutes

I'm on J1/2.1.4.14, and recently a problem with the proximity sensor/light sensor surfaced: It stops working several minutes after booting (checked with CSD tool). A reboot fixes the problem, but not for long. I'd like to debug, so has anybody any idea where to look, i.e. which logs to monitor or which daemons to check? I already did a factory reset, but it didn't help.

If "stops working" == "gets permanently stuck to covered state", then this sounds like what easily happens to proximity sensor over time: Dirt, dust particles, scratches, etc increase the base reflection that the sensor "sees" until the observed values never exit the bounds of "covered" state. IIRC J1 does some p-sensor limit tweaking on bootup, which helps to some extent and could explain "works for a while after reboot" situation.

If you are not comfortable with taking the phone apart (to clean the sensor hole underneath the display), there are some pointers for more info, testing, debugging & performing non-permanent adjustments at https://together.jolla.com/question/162852/solved-double-tap-stop-working/?answer=162860#post-id-162860
