Are not all Sailfish apps open source?

I wanted to have a look at the source code of the mail app. So i went to Sailfish at Github, but i did not find it. Is Github the right place to look? Is the mail app under another name? Did i just overlook it? Or is it not open source?

If you would like/are willing to contribute under NDA you can contact joona petrel at jolla.

Thanks for that offer, but i don't want to waste anyones time while i can't guarantee to deliver anything useful. I am new to Saifish app programming (not to programming), and i wanted to learn from diving deep into a large project (and maybe add something useful). I'll find me another interesting project for that. But it is good to know NDA is possible, for later.

Thanks for that. Pity mail is not open source. It really needs multiple folder sync. But i am not going to build a completely new mail app.

Are you just looking for a native possibility? Otherwise K-9 Mail (f-droid) is a great client.

I know K9 very well. An excellent and complete Android mail app. But i don't have Android on the Sailfish for Gemini PDA, and it is not the way i want to go anyway. The whole idea of using Sailfish is to become Google-free.

"The whole idea of using Sailfish is to become Google-free." You are totally right. Thats also my reason why I use SFOS. But where is the connection between K-9 and Google?

@Vincent, there is a possibility to sign on as a contributor with Jolla and get access to the closed source
