The new device may have the name of an already supported device with a "2" tacked on at the end, but it's a brand new device so there's obviously going to be a whole lot of work in getting it to work. The new SoC may have a lot in common with the SoC on the older Xperia 10 Plus (same CPU setup and wireless modem), but there are still differences that may require a whole bunch of adaptation work on Jolla's part.
From what I can tell the DSP is a newer version (Hexagon 686 versus 680), so is the image signal processor for the camera (Spectra 165 versus 160) and the GPU is wholly new (Adreno 610 versus 509) based a new architecture.
Good phone, at last a decent successor for the Xperia X. I expect support one year after Xperia 10, i. e. end 2020.
