Just thought i was nuts :D so this is a bug - hope this gets resolved soon. USB3.0 bug on linux and now this. Maybe i should buy a mac then...

I also noticed this problem some days ago. Fortunately, I still have a computer with the older version of Windows, with which the flash process was easily possible.

I'm having the same problem. I reverted it to Android 9 using Emma because I couldn't get MMS functionality to work. I wanted to make sure that I had everything functioing under Android, which it was.

However, now I'm stuck and can't seem to get the fastboot driver to take. It's doing exactly what the screen above shows. No fastboot, no reinstalling Sailfish.

I even reset Windows 10 on my laptop hoping that might fix it.

Could you please test using Google USB Driver: https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb.html via their link "Click here to download the Google USB Driver ZIP file (ZIP)". Downloaded file will be named usb_driver_r12-windows.zip

Choose "android_winusb.inf" and "Android Bootloader Interface" (instead of "sa0114adb.inf" and "Sony sa0114 ADB Interface") while following the steps in https://jolla.com/install-sailfish-x-xperia-10-windows/

Hi, can you please tell me how to select the Sony driver!? The usage guide of Zadig doen`t mention anything about chosing a driver from hard drive.

Disclaimer: I do not take any responsibility if you follow what I write below.

I was able to use Zadig to install a USB-driver that made it possible for me to subsequently install Sailfish X on my XA2 Ultra. I cannot be sure that it will work for you, but I did this:

I installed Zadig and started it up with the phone connected in fastboot mode (fastboot mode is reached on an Xperia XA2 Ultra if you turn it on while gently pressing volume down as it is connected with USB to the computer - this information is in the installation "manual" that you read when installing Sailfish X).

Zadig recognizes that the connection to the phone is broken. I chose WinUSB.sys in the automatic driver list. Zadig installed the driver and then it worked.

NB! It did not install the Sony driver as specified by Jolla. It installed a generic Android driver and in the list of devices it does not say "SONY" But Android under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers".

Worked fine for me.

Have someone tried using SOMC driver from Sony's flashtool? image description

I tried it using a few different options from ggsomc.inf this morning. None of them worked to change the above Android(?) status. This is a real problem as it makes it impossible to flash Sailfish.
