I have a major problems with Jolla / Sailfish.

Can't access to Jolla Store: Critical problem with the app registry.

Can't activate developer mode: Nothing happens.

Because of the previos: Can't copy backups to computer.

If I have to reset device: I'll lose all my contacts...

I was just about to activate a syncevolution application when this happened...

Any Ideas what to do?

And now My Apps list in Store: You do not have any installed apps

if I try to install any application, the store application crashes completely.

If I try to install anything rmp file with File Manager, I get the error: Failed! Error code: 7

pkcon -y -p install-local *.rpm...

Result: Fatal Error: Failed to cache rpm database (139)

Hello,

want just to post my experience.
As described here, I had a similar problem but for uninstall an app. after uninstall action of an app, I got this notification too:

"Problem with Store Critical problem with the app registry"

And the app was not uninstalled.
I use then the functionality "restore the register database" in /configuration/system/utilities/.

Action done, and as described on the phone, system restart automatically. Then the uninstall was possible to be done as usual.

I would recommend to do this, if by installing/uninstalling whatever done with the app, comes the same problem.

Good sail.

If you are an advanced user, I think you can install terminal on the device by downloading the fingerterm*.rpm file, open the store, swipe it to background, go to transfers in settings, tap the rpm, swipe to background, reopen the store and it should ask if you want to install the rpm.

After that you can use rsync, tar or other terminal file transfer tools to backup your /home/nemo directory to another machine or a sdcard.

Link for the fingerterm rpm: http://releases.jolla.com/releases/1.0.3.8/jolla/armv7hl/mw/armv7hl/fingerterm-1.1.8-1.7.2.armv7hl.rpm

Good idea, but store does't ask if I want to install... I also try install rpm with File Manage, but it says:

Failed! Error code: 7 pkcon -y -p install-local /home/nemo/Downloads/fingerterm-1.1.8-1.7.2.arm7h1.rpm...

Installing files waiting in queue waiting fo authentication waiting in queue Starting Result: Fatal Error: Failed to cache rpm database (139)

You cannot install rpm packages anymore when the RPM database is corrupt. And this store-client error message means that the RPM database is corrupt and thus rpm is dysfunctional.

If you're lucky to have developer mode enabled already, or have Sailfish Utllities installed, you can rebuild the RPM database. Otherwise your only option is to reflash.

I had the exact same problem for the second time yesterday. The first time was last year. The suggested solution didn't work then and I didn't try it this time either. Instead, I recovered by removing all my photos, which left about 6GB of used disk-space. Before removal it was about 8GB. I suspect the problem is not caused by the app store, but by btrfs somehow. There is another question that discusses storage space of meta-data running out. That seems like a plausible explanation if that is indeed how btrfs work (I am no expert). Anyway, just try emptying your device a lot, and see if that helps. I know it did for me. Hopefully one of the sailors picks up on this issue, especially as there are no clues to the user what is going on besides a vague statement from the store and random other problems such as apps crashing or giving error statements.

Edit: This issues describes the btfs problem, how to diagnose it and how to fix it: https://together.jolla.com/question/30822/root-and-home-disks-full-and-causing-various-problems/
