Since the update to 1.0.4.20 i always get a very loud busy tone (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f5/1TR110-1_Kap8.5_Gassenbesetztton.ogg) (three beeps) when the call is ended by the called phone. Also the notification sound for a waiting call during a ongoing call is very loud. I had similar problems already with a refused call, but this behaviour didn´t happen to my since the last update. --> https://together.jolla.com/question/29972/bug-very-loud-special-information-tone-over-ear-loud-speaker-when-call-gets-refused/

The big problem first of all with this behaviour isn´t that it´s annoying or a bug , but that the sound levels are extremly high and it hurts my ears. Every time this call notification sounds are played on maximum sound level and i tried all to reduce the sound level.

At the end of a call i do know that this happens and can prepare my self to put the phone away from the ear. But when i´m on the phone and a another call is incoming this sounds every time hurt in my ear.

I hope that somebody has an advice for me because the phone is not realy useable how it is now and i never ever had this sort of problems with any other phone and this sim card/network (BOB from A1 Telekom Austria).

Update: Even after a factory reset this problem still occures.

second Update: I have now updated my Jolla to 1.0.5.16 but this problem still occures on every call. The phone was reset even a third time to factory defaults to ensure that no installed software can trigger the problem after the upgrade to the newest firmware version. I didn´t even install any Jolla applications from the store before the final update to 1.0.5.16. I tried also to reboot the phone after every update and take the battery out for at least 10 minutes before the step to the next firmware version. But sadly nothing helped and the phone still plays every network related sound on maximum volume level. My Nokia N9 on the other hand doesn´t show this behaviour with the same sim card. I´m not sure if i should contact the Jolla support or wait if any Jolla staff will react on this thread here!??

Almost duplicate of this

I did another factory reset yesterday evening in the hope that this would eventually solve my problem and the phone won´t keep hurting my ears. But sadly this made no difference it was only just a lot of work. I´m must say that i´m also a little bit disappointed that never any jolla staff reacted to this thread. As this isn´t any "cosmetic" problem, it makes the PHONE almost useless.

I have to agree with Stefan P. Issues like this should be top priority.

I think it would be best if you contact Jolla care with this issue, I have never experienced this myself so it might be a problem with your phone:

I also got this when testing some things with my two phones. I called from Jolla to my other phone, and rejected the call in the other phone end. That's when I first heard those three extremely loud noises in the Jolla end, after it had a while ringed the normal rejected call sound. Though the warning sound itself is not a bug since it's just the network disconnecting you, still I think the extremely high volume of the warning is. It's not supposed to cause deafness. Voting up.

I can confirm that since the update to 1.0.8.19 everything is now working as it should. No more deaf making surprise network sounds.

Thanks Jolla!!!
