On N9 there is the option to let the phone send a SMS containing the device lock code to a previously defined trusted contact. A quite nifty solution in case one forgets the code and needs to reset it.

Do we have a chance this function could be implemented in a future OS version?

I already posted this as an answer in an earlier thread but though to bring it up again as I assume it got overlooked.

Currently there is no plans to implement SMS based recovery (because we don't store cleartext lockcode anywhere in device, so there is nothing that can be sent to trusted person). In N9 cleartext lockcode was stored in system which was quite easy to dig out if you knew what you were doing, but we decided that storing code in cleartext would be insecure.

But we are planning to release remotesecurity-feature in some future update that uses preyproject.com as a backend, with that you can reset your devicelock code as long as you have access to your email address that you registered to Prey.
