Email application doesn't correct the "To" field properly
So, this is a special one.
Steps to recreate
1. Create a new email
2. Type an email address with at least one error (e.g., john@example.xom)
3. Type a subject (any subject)
4. Write something in the body
5. Realize that you mistyped the To address (doh!)
6. Go back quickly to the To field before anybody notices
7. Replace the x with the c, so that you get john@example.com, but don't tap anywhere else
8. Send the email from the pulley menu
Expected
The email is sent to john@example.com. Well, not really, but this is just an example. You use a real email address.
Actual
The email is sent to john@example.xom, and you'll get a failure.
Notes
As you may have guessed, if you correct the email address in point 7 and tap the subject or body field, the email gets sent correctly.
EDIT: This isn't fixed as per 1.1.9
In step 7 you can replace the complete email address, but the email is sent to the old address. I run into this problem today. Problem still exists in 1.0.5.19
el_Matzos ( 2014-05-06 23:12:27 +0200 )editThis is how the UI works, unfortunately. The text field doesn't update the actual adress until you click away from it. If it would update every time you type a letter it would lag out.
jollailija ( 2015-09-25 19:49:33 +0200 )editWhy would it lag out? It's not as you type 60 wpm on the phone on screen keyboard.
Mohjive ( 2015-09-25 20:08:56 +0200 )editjollailija: I understand what the underlying reason is, but the field should update when I send the email to avoid lag, if any, so this is still a bug.
